Comments: My great grand-mother is Jenni Galbraith Coleman (sisters Anna and Rachael) from Binghamton, NY. I'm planning a trip to Scotland in 2018 and want to learn more about my ancestral clan. Also, thank you so much for starting and maintaining this site. I wish my grandmother, who was quite interested in genealogy, were also still alive to participate.
Admin reply: Hello Lisa, Thank you for contacting us. We are delighted to hear from you. I hope you will enjoy your upcoming trip to Scotland. Having just returned from a month in Scotland I feel I must warn you that you will learn more about the Galbraiths from this Association and our extensive library of documents than you will looking for traces of Galbraiths there in Scotland without knowing exactly where to look. Aside from Culcreuch Castle in Fintry, you will be hard-pressed to find any physical evidence of the Galbraiths in Castles in the lowlands even though we have connections to Dumbarton and Stirling and many other castles that are now in ruins. You probably won't find Galbraith tartan accessories aside from a wool scarf, but there will be the occasional kilt pin or badge, but I noticed they have a boar instead of a bear on them. I certainly don't mean to sound discouraging and I hope you will join the association so you will have access to our library so that you can plot your course to follow our transition from Stirlingshire to all parts of the globe. Best regards to you and happy travels! Carol Galbreath Kiefer President Clan Galbraith Association.
